Thought Walks between Film, Research and Performance

For the Record: keeping track of Gedankenspaziergang / open gallery transforms Room 107 in Potsdam's Charlottenstraße into an open space for thought and experience. The experimental festival of the art collective KOMBINAT combines dance and film with scientific curiosity, word art, concert, and performance.

Poetic Films as Impulse

Short film miniatures from students of the Babelsberg Film University serve as the starting point for an unusual work examination. The moving images do not lead to a conclusive interpretation, but open spaces for observation, memory, and mental movement.

Art as an Invitation to Think

At the center is the question of how people perceive their environment, discover connections, and share knowledge. Two guests provide insights into their individual ways of collecting observations and developing insights. This creates a vibrant connection of aesthetic experience, cultural education, and public discourse.

A Fluid Exhibition Atmosphere

The open gallery makes the Potsdam gallery accessible in the afternoon. The exhibition space becomes the place for the thought walk: film, language, body, and sound encounter each other in an open curation. The art experience thrives on changing perspectives and an atmosphere in which visitors can bring in their own questions.

Concept and Artistic Collaboration

The project was conceived by Paula E. Paul and Sirko Knüpfer and realized by KOMBINAT combines dance and film UG. Involved are among others Anne Hirth, Clemens Kowalski, Conrad Katzer, Oscar Loeser, and Steph Ketelhut. The film miniatures were edited by Andreas Schumacher, Armano Forster, Gaboroto, Luise Klepper, Maksim Mladzinau, and Sirko Knüpfer.

Conclusion: An Art Experience for Curious Minds

For the Record invites you to experience art not just as a finished result but as an open impulse. Those who want to discover film, performance, research, and contemporary exhibition practice in a concentrated exhibition atmosphere will find in the open gallery an inspiring place for aesthetic experience and cultural enrichment.
