How Social Change Affects Our Everyday Life

With the opening of the exhibition “Everything Remains Different – Everyday Life in Transition”, the focus is on changes that shape everyday life and on societal transformation. The event takes place in Potsdam in the event hall of the City and State Library.

The title makes it clear that everyday life is not static. Habits, ways of life, and societal conditions can change, influencing the perception of one's environment. The exhibition opening invites attendees to consciously perceive this change and engage with the question of how changes in daily life become visible.

Social Change in Everyday Life

At the center is the connection between personal everyday experiences and larger societal developments. It relates to the observation of change: What remains familiar, what changes, and how do such processes affect coexistence? The exhibition opens a thematic approach to these questions and provides an opportunity for reflection on the changes of the present.

The venue is the event hall of the Potsdam City and State Library at Am Kanal 47. The central library thus serves as the setting for an event that addresses societal issues and stimulates personal reflection. Visitors can engage with the exhibition theme on-site and use the opening as an introduction to the presentation.
