Art, Nature, and World Heritage: Experience the Art Meadow in Sanssouci Park
The Art Meadow in Sanssouci Park invites you to rediscover the UNESCO World Heritage Site with brush, pencil, and open perception. Between historic buildings and extensive park landscapes, an outdoor art experience emerges that directly connects creativity and landscape space.
A place where the park itself becomes the motif
At the center is the aesthetic experience of seeing: Light falls on meadow areas, groups of trees, and architectural lines, while the gaze continually shifts between nature and architecture. The surroundings of the New Palace create an atmosphere where observing works does not happen from a distance but grows from immediate perception.
An open invitation to paint for all generations
Young and old are welcome to express themselves freely in the Art Meadow. Painting and drawing materials are provided on-site, and artists offer support upon request. Those who wish can bring their own materials and personalize their visit – from quick sketch sheets to careful color studies.
Between Garden Art, Education, and Personal Style
The Art Meadow is designed as a low-threshold cultural educational offering that opens up Sanssouci Park as a living experiential space. Here, cultural education combines with immediate practice: observe, select, reduce, elaborate. This creates an intense access to form, space, and perspective – right in the middle of a world-class garden artwork.
Practical Information for Your Visit
The event takes place on several weekends from mid-June to mid-September 2026, every Saturday and Sunday from 1 PM to 5 PM. Admission is free, and the Art Meadow is wheelchair accessible. To get there, public transport to the stop Potsdam, Neues Palais, is recommended, as well as paid parking at P3, Am Neuen Palais.
The Art Meadow in Sanssouci Park promises a quiet, inspiring art experience in the open air, combining nature observation, creative practice, and cultural-historical depth. Anyone who wants to not only walk through the park but experience it artistically should definitely attend this event in person.
