Between closeness and boundaries: a poetic circus theater on the theater ship
Where is the invisible line between us and others? The production Warm welcome - or access denied? transforms the theater ship Potsdam into an experiential space where societal boundaries become physically palpable. On November 14, 2026, the theatrical-circus spectacle combines acrobatics, gesture, music, and fine humor into a stage event full of tension and quiet melancholy.
When a wall separates the audience
A specially constructed wall divides the audience area, making the boundary not just a theme, but a concrete part of the dramaturgy. Closeness and distance, belonging and exclusion take on a visible form. The production challenges the audience to perceive their own position and to re-examine familiar notions of community.
Acrobatics as the language of relationships
Where the monologue falls silent, the language of the body begins. Gestures, symbols, and breathtaking acrobatics speak of human relationships, distrust, and approach. Ivan Luzan's direction relies on a visually striking stage art, where every movement holds meaning, and the acoustics of the unusual performance space amplify the physical presence of the performers.
A stage design with political and poetic power
The stage design becomes a social experimental setup: A barrier separates, organizes, and provokes. At the same time, it remains changeable. Bright melancholy meets fine humor, while the acrobatics draw attention to what people often feel but rarely express. Concept, space, music, and direction are by Ivan Luzan. Yevhen Dashkivskyy, Yefrem Bitkine, Alexandr Novak, and Uliana Luzan also participate.
Admission and tickets
The box office opens at 6:30 PM, with the event starting at 7:30 PM. Tickets are available from 26 euros. Discounts apply, among others, for people with a disability degree of 50, holders of a social ticket, citizens receiving basic benefits, as well as students and pupils.
Conclusion: Theater that makes boundaries tangible

Those who want to not only observe but physically experience theater atmosphere can expect a night at the theater ship Potsdam that resonates long after the final image.
