When Language Becomes Visible: Jan Sell in Potsdam
Literature opens spaces by connecting different forms of expression. The inclusive reading with Jan Sell in German Sign Language invites you to the City and State Library of Potsdam on November 3, 2026, making language an experiential visual, physical, and poetic experience.
A Reading Between Literature and Sign Language Poetry
Jan Sell is a versatile stage artist: He works as a state-certified sign language teacher and interpreter, performs as an actor and moderator, and acts as a sign language poet at concerts and in theater. His charismatic presence and precise sensitivity for language shape a reading atmosphere in which communication extends far beyond spoken words.
Literary Experience for a Diverse Audience
The event combines reading, visual language art, and cultural participation. German Sign Language appears not merely as a translation but as an independent form of expression with rhythm, movement, facial expression, and spatial dramaturgy. Thus, an author encounter is created, making literature accessible from an expanded perspective.
Inclusive Cultural Work in the Library
The City and State Library of Potsdam organizes the evening in cooperation with the Office for Equality and Diversity of the State Capital Potsdam. The library becomes a place of exchange and demonstrates how literary quality, language art, and accessibility can come together.
Conclusion: Experience Literature with All Senses
Visitors can expect a unique literary experience with an artist who makes language visible and physically tangible. Those wanting to discover inclusive culture, sign language poetry, and contemporary reading formats can experience Jan Sell up close on November 3, 2026, in Potsdam.
