Christmas Magic Under the Starry Sky in Potsdam

On December 19, 2026, Christian Leonhardt, together with Simon Plate, invites you to a special Christmas evening at the Urania Planetarium Potsdam. Under the starry sky, poetic tales from the cosmos intertwine with stories from life on Earth, creating a heartfelt pre-Christmas evening filled with humor, closeness, and imagination.

Stories Between Earth and Cosmos

Since 2018, this Christmas evening has been part of the planetarium's program. Christian Leonhardt and Simon Plate create an atmosphere where the gaze extends far beyond the wintry city: The dome of the planetarium opens up space for thoughts about stars, the universe, and the small observations of everyday life.

Poetic Stage Performance with a Personal Touch

Christian Leonhardt works as a poet, speaker, and cultural worker. His performances thrive on direct language, honest observations, and a keen sense of humor. As the moderator of the Potsdam Singer-Songwriter League and with his own stories on stages in Berlin and Brandenburg, he combines literary storytelling with vibrant stage presence.

A Concert Experience Without Instruments, But Full of Sound

A unique live atmosphere emerges at the Urania Planetarium: voices, pauses, and poignant stories meet the visual expanse of the starry sky. The acoustic concentration of the space directs the focus on language, rhythm, and intonation. Thus, a mood-filled evening for the pre-Christmas season develops from readings, lectures, and poetic stage performances.

An Evening for Curious Christmas Guests

The program is aimed at everyone who wants to experience Christmas not only contemplatively but also intellectually and humorously. The combination of cosmic tales, personal stories, and the special backdrop of the planetarium makes the evening an extraordinary cultural appointment in Potsdam.

Conclusion: Christmas Begins Under the Stars

Visitors can expect a relatable and poetic concert experience blending literature, cosmos, and pre-Christmas spirit on Saturday, December 19, 2026. Those looking forward to stories with heart, humor, and foresight will experience Christian Leonhardt and Simon Plate live at the Urania Planetarium Potsdam.
