Dance, Movement and Culture: Sundays in the Library in Potsdam

On Sunday, November 1, 2026, the City and State Library Potsdam will transform into an open cultural space for families and young visitors. As part of the cultural showcase, Vera Knauer invites you to a one-hour workshop Dance with Vera at 2 PM. Children between the ages of 8 and 13 will discover movement, music, and the joy of dancing together.

A Folk Dance Workshop Full of Energy

Colorful dresses, cheerful music, and plenty of room for movement characterize this vibrant cultural experience. After a playful warm-up, participants will learn the steps of a simple folk dance through demonstration and imitation. No prior knowledge is required.

Library as a Living Cultural Space

The cultural showcase presents the library from its open, inspiring side: as a place to meet, linger, read, and experience together. Every Sunday, the City and State Library Potsdam opens its doors and connects cultural education with accessible offerings for young and old. The library will be open on this day from 1 PM to 5 PM.

Movement, Learning and Laughing Together

The workshop combines physical activity with cultural participation. Children will learn new steps, develop a sense of rhythm, and experience how a communal dance movement emerges from a group. The immediate atmosphere, cheerful music, and personal guidance make the afternoon a special experience for curious young culture fans.

Conclusion: A Sunday with Rhythm and Imagination

Those looking to combine movement, music, and an open library atmosphere will enjoy a varied Sunday afternoon at Dance with Vera. The workshop is aimed at children aged 8 to 13, lasts one hour, and is free of charge. Families are invited to discover the cultural showcase live in Potsdam.
