Discovering big stories with little robots

At Media Start – Telling Stories with Bee Bots, families in the Potsdam City and State Library experience a playful introduction to the world of robotics and programming. Children aged 4 to 6 let small Bee Bots zoom across a self-developed story landscape, combining imagination, storytelling, and digital media.

When the Bees go on a story journey

Curious children can explore and try out the easily programmable Bee Bots themselves. While creating a small story, the robot receives a task and is sent on its journey step by step. Thus, simple movement commands turn into creative narratives with visible successes and lots of children's laughter.

Age-appropriate fun with robotics

The family experience is aimed at children aged 4 to 6 and requires no prior knowledge. The event provides initial experiences with programming, orientation, and logical thinking in a child-friendly manner. By connecting analog stories and digital media, an age-appropriate learning experience emerges that playfully supports media competence and development.

Quality time in the library

Parents and children explore the Bee Bots together and experience how an idea turns into a small programmed action. This strengthens communication, imagination, and the sense of community. The calm setting of the library provides space for wonder, experimentation, and focused learning.

Free entry and officially fully booked

The event is announced as a free offering by the Potsdam City and State Library and will take place on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. According to the event title, the offering is fully booked. Families looking for a similar media start can regularly find more children's and family events in the library.

Conclusion: Small bees, big discoveries

Bee Bots make programming accessible for young children: A story is created, a robot sets it in motion, and from every attempt, new curiosity grows. This family experience connects learning fun, creativity, and shared time in a particularly illustrative way.
