Virtual Reality at the Waldstadt Branch Library: Experience digital worlds yourself

Discover new worlds with VR glasses

On November 24, 2026, the Waldstadt Branch Library in Potsdam invites you to an interactive art experience of the digital present. At Virtual Reality at the Waldstadt Branch Library, children and young people can try out Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality themselves and dive into fascinating digital experience spaces.

Digital spaces as aesthetic experience

A VR headset changes familiar perception: The library space becomes the starting point for virtual landscapes, moving images, and immersive scenarios. Colors, shapes, light, and space effects are no longer just on a screen but immediately surround the viewers. This special exhibition atmosphere makes digital media sensuously tangible.

Media literacy meets cultural education

The event connects playful exploration with cultural education. Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality open up new perspectives on image worlds, narrative forms, and digital design. The examination of works takes place not in front of classic paintings or sculptures but within interactive, computer-generated spaces. This results in a contemporary understanding of installation, spatial art, and media staging.

A program for children and young people

This format is particularly aimed at young visitors. Children under ten years can participate accompanied by a legal guardian. Participation is free of charge and provides easy access to current technologies, digital creativity, and a curious engagement with the visual culture of the present.

Conclusion: Experience digital worlds yourself

For those who know Virtual Reality only from stories but want to experience the impact of immersive media directly, the Waldstadt Branch Library offers an exciting place for discovery and aesthetic experience. The free art experience combines play, learning, and digital innovation – a visit enhances cultural education and opens the view to new exhibition forms.
