Christmas Magic in Potsdam: Advent Concert full of Sound and Encounter
As Advent arrives in Potsdam, the Christmas benefit concert at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church invites you to a special concert experience. On Friday, December 4, 2026, the Reasonance Orchestra and the International Choir Potsdam blend traditional Christmas melodies with new, multicultural arrangements.
Festive Tones between Tradition and Present
The program features familiar and newly interpreted Christmas music. Among others, Carol of the Bells, Silent Night, Holy Night, and New Joy, a reinterpretation of a Ukrainian folk song, will be heard. Orchestra sound and choral singing meet each other and create a festive musical drama.
Music as a Bridge between People
The concert is part of the Better Encounters project by the Potsdam Citizen Foundation. The focus is on social cohesion, mutual understanding, and the meeting of different perspectives. The combination of an international ensemble, choir, and Christmas repertoire gives the evening a special atmosphere.
Conducting, Choir, and Orchestral Dynamics
The musical direction is taken by Liliia Chernyshova for the Reasonance Orchestra and Eugen Zigutkin for the International Choir Potsdam. The performance thrives on the synchronization between voices and instruments, from calm, contemplative passages to the brilliant peaks of Christmas melodies. In the acoustics of the historic church, choral harmonies and orchestral colors unfold impressive depth.
A Benefit Evening with Open Access
Entry to the Advent concert is free, but donations are welcome. This makes the evening accessible to all who want to experience music together, pause, and start the pre-Christmas season in a special live atmosphere.
Conclusion: Advent Music that Connects
The Christmas Magic Advent concert promises festive sounds, international musical perspectives, and a warm audience atmosphere in central Potsdam. Those who wish to open Advent with choral singing, orchestral sound, and a sign of solidarity will enjoy a special concert evening with free admission.
